What team building activities build collaboration?
Activities with one shared result that no sub-group can reach alone. Bridge to the Future has the whole group build one bridge, section by section, strong enough to support everyone. Build-a-Guitar and Build-a-Band split a build across teams of 10 and donate the finished instruments to youth music programs. Helping the Homeless and Earth Wind and Solar have teams earn materials through challenges, then assemble the donation together. Competition to Collaboration starts as a contest between two sub-teams and ends with a surprise twist that turns them into one team.
Every program is run by a professional lead facilitator with event staff, and in-person programs take groups from 30 to 1,000+. Most run 1.5 to 2.5 hours, so they fit inside a meeting day or a conference agenda, and delivery is nationwide with no added travel costs in the continental U.S.

Collaboration programs by format
- One shared build
- Bridge to the Future, Build-a-Guitar, Build-a-Band: 2 to 2.5 hours, teams of 10, groups of 30 to 1,000+. The group builds one bridge it can stand on, or a set of guitars, basses and drum kits that go to youth music programs.
- Earn, then assemble
- Bike Build Donation, Build-A-Rollator, Helping the Homeless, Earth Wind and Solar, Hydroponics for Hunger, Kids Rock!, Bears and Blankets, Minute 2 Win It! for Charity: 1 to 2.5 hours. Games and challenges run alongside the build, and the finished bikes, rollators, care packs, STEM kits and toys go to a local charity.
- From rivals to one team
- Competition to Collaboration: 2.5 to 3 hours, up to 1,000+, indoor or outdoor. Two sub-teams compete through a series of challenges, then a surprise twist reinforces what they can do by sharing best practices and working as one group.
- Solve it together
- Crack the Case!: 1.5 to 2 hours, teams of 4 to 8. Teams work through puzzles and clues in their own case kits, then collaborate across teams to solve the final case in a group finale.
- For hybrid teams
- Building Your Hybrid Team: a custom virtual workshop for up to 25 people, 2 to 6 hours, that leaves the group with an objective statement and team goals it takes back to work.

Frequently asked questions
Which activity is best for a team that works in silos?
Competition to Collaboration was built for it. Two sub-teams complete challenges separately, each trying to set a mark for the other to beat, and a surprise twist then reinforces what they gain by sharing best practices and working as one group. For a single department, Bridge to the Future gives every team of 10 a section of one structure that has to connect.
How long do collaboration programs run?
Bridge to the Future, Build-a-Guitar and Build-a-Band run 2 to 2.5 hours. Competition to Collaboration runs 2.5 to 3 hours. The charity assemblies, from Bike Build Donation to Helping the Homeless, run 1.5 to 2 hours, Bears and Blankets 1 to 1.5 hours and Minute 2 Win It! for Charity 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Building Your Hybrid Team is a 2 to 6 hour workshop.
Do collaboration programs work for large groups?
Yes. The in-person programs on this page take groups from 30 to 1,000+, and Competition to Collaboration scales up to 1,000+. Teams of 10 (4 to 8 for Crack the Case!, 6 to 8 for Minute 2 Win It! for Charity) work in parallel toward the shared result. Groups of 50 or more need a microphone and sound system.
Is there a virtual option?
Building Your Hybrid Team is a custom workshop for up to 25 people, delivered by a professional facilitator over a video conferencing platform, with program materials sent to each participant. It runs 2 to 6 hours and produces an objective statement and team goals. For other online options, see our virtual team building programs.
Can these programs run indoors or outdoors?
Most run either way. Bridge to the Future, Bike Build Donation, Build-A-Rollator, Helping the Homeless, Hydroponics for Hunger, Kids Rock!, Bears and Blankets, Crack the Case! and Competition to Collaboration are listed for indoor or outdoor settings. Build-a-Guitar, Build-a-Band, Earth Wind and Solar and Minute 2 Win It! for Charity are indoor programs, and Earth Wind and Solar needs flat tables.
How much space and what equipment do we need?
Plan on 25 square feet per person for most programs, 30 for Competition to Collaboration and 40 for Bridge to the Future. Groups of 50 or more need a microphone and sound system. Build-a-Guitar, Bike Build Donation, Build-A-Rollator, Earth Wind and Solar and Bears and Blankets also use tablets or phones on Wi-Fi, and most of those call for a display screen or projector.
What is included in a collaboration program?
Program design and production coordination, a professional lead facilitator with event staff, and all activity materials, from bridge-building supplies to guitar kits, bicycles with helmets and locks, rollators and care pack contents. Charity programs also include coordination with the receiving nonprofit. Delivery is nationwide with no added travel costs in the continental U.S.
Who facilitates the program?
A professional lead facilitator runs every program, supported by event staff who handle setup, breakdown and onsite logistics. Best Corporate Events has delivered facilitated team building since 2010, for groups from 30 to 6,000+ across the catalog, and a facilitator leads Building Your Hybrid Team over video as well.
Can a collaboration program be customized for our team?
Yes, within each program. Crack the Case! offers optional customization of the final puzzle, Minute 2 Win It! for Charity includes custom game design and round structure, and Building Your Hybrid Team is a custom workshop built around your group. In Bridge to the Future, each team decorates its section as a representation of your mission and goals.
