Why Franklin works for a corporate event

How it works with us here

Most Franklin events happen in Cool Springs, the office and hotel district along I-65 where healthcare, finance and corporate headquarters sit a few minutes from each other. A team walks from its building to a hotel ballroom on Cool Springs Boulevard or McEwen Drive, or we set up in the company's own training room. We bring every kit, facilitator and prize, and the program ends in time to beat the I-65 traffic north to Nashville.

More about corporate events in Franklin, TN

Bikes for Williamson County kids

Bike Build Donation® is the program Franklin groups book most. A healthcare company built bikes in the ballroom at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, and they went to children served by Williamson County CASA, whose volunteers advocate for kids in the county's juvenile court. Teams of ten earn parts through challenges, then build, in 1.5 to 2 hours and about 25 square feet a person.

Builds at the Drury Plaza

The Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Franklin, off I-65 near the Cool Springs Galleria, has hosted Build-A-Rollator, in which teams assemble rolling walkers and care kits that a nonprofit then gives to people who need them. The same hotel held Competition to Collaboration® for a construction materials leadership team, a 2.5 to 3 hour session that shows two groups what they gain by sharing.

In Cool Springs offices

Plenty of Franklin teams never leave the building. A manufacturer has booked Build-a-Guitar® in its Cool Springs office, a fitting choice this close to Music City: teams build guitars from kits, with amplifiers and cases, and the guitars go to teens through schools and youth groups. A bank's team took Myers-Briggs (MBTI) training in their own conference room, and we have emceed one company's meeting program and run Virtual Name That Tune! for the same group.

Hotel game shows

A finance company filled an afternoon at the Franklin Marriott with Trivia Blast Live! and a Go-Kart Competition, in which teams design and build their own karts and then race them. The hotel's conference center has more than 30,000 square feet, including the Champion Ballroom, so the build and the race can each have a room.

Downtown Franklin and Main Street

Historic downtown sits a short drive west of Cool Springs: Main Street, the Carter House and Carnton from the 1864 Battle of Franklin, and The Park at Harlinsdale Farm on the Harpeth River. It suits a City SmartHunt® on foot, and the city's two free garages on 2nd and 4th Avenues South give the group a place to park and start. The Franklin Theatre on Main Street and the courthouse square make natural checkpoints.

Part of the Nashville area

Franklin is part of our Nashville coverage. The same team plans events in downtown Nashville, Brentwood and the rest of Middle Tennessee, so a company with a Cool Springs office and a Nashville office can plan both in one call. January kickoffs and June outings are our busiest Franklin months.

Space for a Franklin program, ballroom or office

In Franklin the choice is usually between a Cool Springs ballroom and your own training room. The square footage per person tells you which programs the room can hold.

Planning guide

Franklin weather through the year

Franklin summers are hot, with highs near 90 in July and August, and rain falls in every month, most of all in spring. Spring and fall are the outdoor windows.

  • Outdoors

    April and May

    • Highs from the low 70s to about 80: the best weeks for a SmartHunt downtown or a program at Harlinsdale.
    • The wettest stretch of the year as well, so hold a room.
  • Either way

    June to August

    • Highs from the upper 80s to about 91. Keep outdoor time to the morning; ballroom and office builds run any time.
    • June is one of our busiest Franklin months.
  • Outdoors

    September and October

    • Highs in the mid-80s in September, falling to the mid-70s in October: the second good outdoor window.
  • Indoors

    November to March

    • Highs from about 49 in January to the low 60s. Plan a ballroom or office program.
    • January kickoffs keep Cool Springs ballrooms busy.

Dates to plan around

Main Street Festival
Late April (April 25 and 26 in 2026). Downtown's spring arts and crafts festival closes Main Street.
Franklin Rodeo
Mid-May (May 13 to 15 in 2027). A PRCA rodeo run by the Franklin Noon Rotary, with a parade downtown the week before.
Pumpkinfest
Late October (October 24 and 25 in 2026). A fall festival on Main Street.
Dickens of a Christmas
Mid-December (December 12 and 13 in 2026). A Victorian holiday festival downtown.

The three downtown festivals draw large crowds to Main Street. For a SmartHunt downtown, pick another weekend; Cool Springs hotels are rarely affected.

Getting to Franklin and Cool Springs

Nearly everyone drives. I-65 runs north and south through Cool Springs, and the hotels sit just off it.

Flying in

Nashville International (BNA)
About 20 miles north of the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, mostly by I-65. Allow extra time at rush hour.

Driving and parking

I-65
The Cool Springs hotels are all just off I-65 near the Cool Springs Galleria, south of Brentwood.
Downtown garages
Two free city garages, on 2nd Avenue South and 4th Avenue South, hold about 300 cars each with no time limit. Street parking downtown is limited to two hours on weekdays.

Around Cool Springs

Hotel shuttles
The Drury Plaza runs a free weekday shuttle within five miles of the hotel, and the Franklin Marriott runs one to nearby businesses, which helps a group staying in one hotel and working in another building.

Corporate events and team building in Franklin, TN: questions we get

Do you run team building in Cool Springs offices?

Yes. Franklin companies often keep the event at work: Build-a-Guitar® has run in a Cool Springs office, and MBTI training in a bank's conference room. A build needs about 25 square feet a person and a few tables. We bring the kits and facilitators and leave the room as we found it.

Which Franklin hotels have you worked in?

The Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, the Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Franklin and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Franklin Cool Springs. All three sit off I-65 in Cool Springs with ballrooms or meeting rooms for a seated program. Tell us your headcount and we will suggest the right room.

What do Franklin companies book most?

Bike Build Donation® leads, followed by Build-a-Guitar®, Build-A-Rollator, Competition to Collaboration®, Trivia Blast Live! and the Go-Kart Competition. The builds run 1.5 to 2.5 hours and end with a donation, the game show runs 1 to 1.5 hours, and the leadership session runs 2.5 to 3 hours.

Where do the bikes go?

A Franklin bike build at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs went to children served by Williamson County CASA, which trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the county's juvenile court. We can choose another Williamson County organization with you, or give to a cause your company already supports.

Is this different from your Nashville page?

Franklin is part of our Nashville coverage and the same team runs both. This page covers Cool Springs, downtown Franklin and Williamson County; the Nashville page covers downtown, Lower Broadway and the rest of the city. Groups with offices in both can book both in one conversation.

Can we do something outdoors in Franklin?

Yes, best from April to early June and in October, when highs run in the 70s. The city rents pavilions at Pinkerton Park and Jim Warren Park, and The Park at Harlinsdale Farm handles larger events. We book the space with you and plan an indoor fallback.

How many people can take part?

Franklin groups tend to be a department or a regional office, from a leadership team of fifteen to a company meeting in a ballroom. Most of our programs list 30 to 1,000+, and the Champion Ballroom at the Franklin Marriott is large enough for a company-wide build.

How far ahead should we book?

Eight weeks for a Cool Springs ballroom, and more for January kickoffs, June dates and the weekends of the Main Street Festival or Pumpkinfest. A program in your own office is usually comfortable at four weeks. Shorter notice sometimes works, so call about a close date.
