8 team building activities in Indianapolis, IN

We have run all eight for groups in downtown Indianapolis or up the road in Carmel and Fishers, and each card tells you where and how many people took part.

  1. 1. Bike Build Donation

Teams earn parts through quick challenges, assemble the bikes, and present them to kids from a local charity at the finish. A group of 165 built bikes at The Alexander downtown in February 2019, and 120 people built them on the grounds of Conner Prairie in Fishers.

  2. 2. Race Car Rally at the JW Marriott

Teams design and build small cars on LEGO platforms, then race them in timed heats, a fitting pick in the home of the Indy 500. An agriculture group of 625 raced at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in July 2021, and a team of 98 ran it at The Alexander in October 2022.

  3. 3. Go-Kart Competition at the Speedway

Each team works as a pit crew, building a self-powered kart and choosing drivers for the final race. A group of 60 built and raced their karts at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in October 2021.

  4. 4. City SmartHunt downtown

Teams solve clues on iPads and earn points for photo challenges at stops such as Monument Circle and the Canal Walk. A group of 280 set out from the JW Marriott Indianapolis in July 2018 and finished back at the hotel for scores.

  5. 5. Best Corporate Feud

A live host, buzzers and a scoreboard turn survey questions into a team contest that fits an hour of a meeting agenda. An education group of 110 played it in Indianapolis in July 2026, and an insurance group of 170 played our feud show at Ritz Charles in Carmel.

  6. 6. Bears and Blankets

Teams stuff and dress teddy bears and add blankets, then a partner charity passes them to children who need comfort. A technology team of 138 made them at the Forum Conference & Events Center in Fishers in November 2018.

  7. 7. Build-a-Raft Competition

Teams design a raft from the materials provided, test it on the water for flaws, then race it in heats. A group of 30 built rafts with us at the Conrad Indianapolis on Washington Street in November 2018.

  8. 8. STEM Backpacks for Kids

Teams take on science and math challenges to earn supplies, then fill backpacks with STEM kits that we donate to kids through a partner charity. A pharmaceutical team of 40 packed them in downtown Indianapolis in May 2019.

Working with us in Indianapolis

Many of our Indianapolis events attach to a convention or a sales meeting downtown, at the JW Marriott, The Alexander or the Conrad. North of the city, Carmel and Fishers give suburban options at Ritz Charles, the Forum Conference & Events Center and Conner Prairie. Charity builds are what Indianapolis groups book most, with the Bike Build Donation well ahead of the rest.

More about corporate events in Indianapolis, IN

Getting there

Indianapolis International Airport sits off I-70 at exit 68, five minutes west of I-465, with scheduled bus service into the greater Indianapolis area. Downtown, climate-controlled skywalks link 4,700 hotel rooms to the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, so a group staying downtown can reach a ballroom activity without stepping outside.

Picking the right size of room

The JW Grand Ballroom holds up to 4,000 people, which is why our largest Indianapolis builds and rallies land at the JW Marriott. The Alexander has more than 16,500 square feet of meeting and event space, where we have run groups of 98 and 165. Under 50 people, a function room downtown or your own office in Carmel or Fishers handles a game show or a packing build.

Team building in Indianapolis, IN: questions we get

Which team building activities suit Indianapolis groups?

The Bike Build Donation is the one booked most here. Race Car Rally and the Go-Kart Competition play to the city's racing history, and Best Corporate Feud covers a lighter hour inside a meeting.

Have you run an event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway?

Yes. A group of 60 built and raced karts there in October 2021 in our Go-Kart Competition.

Which Indianapolis venues have you worked in?

Downtown: the JW Marriott Indianapolis, The Alexander, the Conrad Indianapolis, the Indiana Convention Center and the Slippery Noodle Inn. North of the city: Ritz Charles in Carmel, plus the Forum Conference & Events Center and Conner Prairie in Fishers.

Can you work around a convention at the Indiana Convention Center?

Yes. We set the activity up in a skywalk-connected hotel ballroom before or after sessions, and we have also run a bike build inside the convention center itself for a group of 115.

What group sizes do you handle in Indianapolis?

Our Indianapolis groups have run from 30 to 625 people. Race Car Rally and the charity builds scale to the largest ballrooms, while a game show needs roughly 30 players to get going.

Can we take the group outdoors?

A City SmartHunt covers downtown on foot, and a bike build can run outdoors, as it did at Conner Prairie. For the colder months, we plan a ballroom activity downtown instead.

What length of slot do these activities need?

Most take 1.5 to 2 hours, counting the briefing and the wrap-up. Best Corporate Feud and Bears and Blankets fit in 1 to 1.5 hours, and a City SmartHunt needs 2 to 2.5.

How early should an Indianapolis booking go in?

Six to eight weeks covers most dates. If your meeting lands during a large downtown convention, reserve sooner, since the connected hotel ballrooms fill first.
