Challenge
Last December, we received an inquiry from Tito’s Handmade Vodka (the most popular distilled spirit in the U.S.). They wanted to know if we could run an event in Atlantic City, New Jersey that had a “sports components” but also could be “a fun corporate team building competition.”
Our sales team conducted their initial call with Tito’s, and we were able to understand better what they had hoped to achieve with this event. It turns out it would be two events! Both events would take place in the summer, outdoors, and in two separate locations. One event in Lake Como, NJ, and one in Atlantic City. They wanted the activities to be fun and exciting, and to keep everyone interacting with one another as they worked towards raising funds for a local charity.
Solution
We had two perfect programs in mind: Team Olympics and Corporate Survivor. Both of these events are full of energy, competition, and fun, physical activities. Just what Tito’s Vodka was looking for in their event! Their team decided on Team Olympics for both of their events. We were thrilled with their choice, and we were looking forward to bringing their “Tito’s Olympics” to fruition!
Before we knew it, summer had arrived, and it was the day of the first Tito’s event. The weather is always a bit unpredictable during that time of the year, and sure enough, shortly before the Olympics program was about to begin, the rain came pouring down.
Program Details
BEST and Tito’s team refused to let a bit of inclement weather and fog put a stop to their event. The group worked with us through every step. Even with bad weather threatening, we worked around it, and the plan ran perfectly.
Once the skies cleared, 160 wholesale partners and bartenders from across the state of New Jersey competed in ten activities, including tug of war, giant Jenga, sack races, corn hole, dodge ball, and even a Tito’s Relay! Tito’s provided a DJ and catering for the participants, helping to keep up everyone’s morale as they all worked towards obtaining gold medals and raising funds for the Mya Lin Terry Foundation. This is a non-profit organization that supports research for childhood cancers.
The second Tito’s Olympics event took place a month later, with no rain threat, on the rooftop Event Lawn of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. One hundred sixty participants competed together and helped raise funds for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of New Jersey.
Nothing makes us happier than a satisfied customer: “The facilitators had a great plan to get everyone on board to participate and execute in all of the events at once. It was great fun, and everyone had a great time. It was fun to watch!” – Elliot, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Fifth Generation, Inc
