One Pot Wonders

One of our most delicious ice breaker activities, One Pot Wonders has teams competing to make the best chowder, gumbo or stew – encouraging teamwork and increasing camaraderie. Using a variety of fresh ingredients, each team develops their unique recipe and creates their very own taste.

Each team will have a table, equipped with a cooking pot, mixing spoons, knives, cutting boards, aprons and utensils. Within the allotted time, they must create a recipe, prepare their dish, develop a team name, design a team poster, compose a team chant and market their creation.

Will it be Yankee Red against Boston White Clam Chowder, or New Orleans Gumbo or one of a number of popular stews; Brunswick or Chili Con Carne or Coq Au Vin or Etouffee or Irish Stew or Ratatouille! We can also add one of our famous Cocktail Challenges to any program and make the event even more intoxicatingly fun!

Your teams arrive at the “kitchen” to the sound of upbeat music. Teams will also have iPads to complete text, photo and video challenges that will reveal some fascinating facts about the One Pot Wonder dish they are making.

After all the teams have finished cooking, they will perform their team chant and present their dish to the judges. Teams will be judged on creativity, presentation, and taste.

After a wonderful one pot dinner, your team will go home with the indelible memories of spirit and cooperation plus all the iPad® photos and videos shot during this unique event.

To ensure a great experience, aspects of this cooking program may be modified to maximize the benefits for your group size, group makeup, and time available.
