8 team building activities in Raleigh, NC
Our facilitators have run each of these in Raleigh or a short drive away in Durham and Cary, and every card names the venue and the size of the group.
1. Mini-golf build with a food donation
Each team designs and builds a putting hole, the whole room plays the finished course, and the canned food holding the holes in place goes to a food pantry. A group of 140 played their course at The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport in Brier Creek in October 2023.
2. Bike Build Donation
Teams win bike parts in short challenges, put the bikes together, and give them to kids from a local nonprofit before the session ends. A financial services group of 105 built bikes at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary in October 2022.
3. Best Corporate Feud
Our host runs survey rounds with buzzers and a live scoreboard while team captains call the answers. An energy team of 25 played it at The StateView Hotel on Alumni Drive in September 2023, so it works in a small meeting room as well as a ballroom.
4. A Minute 2 Win It!
Sixty-second challenges built from everyday props, with our host keeping score on screen between rounds. A technology team of 80 played it at the Durham Convention Center downtown in January 2026.
5. City SmartHunt from the Durham Bulls ballpark
Teams follow clues on iPads, complete photo challenges and race between stops on foot. Our largest Triangle hunt sent 200 people out from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park into downtown Durham in October 2024.
6. Race Car Rally
Teams build and tune small race cars on LEGO platforms, then run heats on a track set up in the room. A technology team of 40 raced at The Rickhouse, an event venue in downtown Durham, in December 2022.
7. Build-A-Rollator
Teams assemble rolling walkers that a nonprofit then places with people who need them. A group of 116 built rollators and wheelchairs at the JB Duke Hotel on Duke's campus in January 2024, and a team of 32 built wheelchairs at The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport in August 2025.
8. Amazing Chase SmartHunt in downtown Raleigh
A race-format hunt with checkpoints and timed stations that can be routed around the State Capitol and along Fayetteville Street. A group of 50 ran an Amazing Chase in Raleigh in July 2019.

How our Raleigh events run
Our Raleigh bookings usually sit inside a meeting or an offsite: at a hotel by the airport in Brier Creek, at the StateView next to NC State, or at The Umstead in Cary. Plenty of groups meet across the Triangle, so we also work in Durham at the JB Duke Hotel and the Durham Convention Center. Technology and life-sciences teams book most of our Triangle events, and charity builds are the format they ask for first.

Getting there
Raleigh-Durham International Airport sits between the two cities, about 20 minutes from downtown Durham. GoTriangle's RDU Shuttle and Route 100 link the terminals with the Regional Transit Center and downtown Raleigh. Amtrak's Carolinian, which runs between New York and Charlotte, stops at Raleigh Union Station on West Martin Street and in Durham.
Picking the right size of room
Once a group passes 100, book a ballroom so a build has table space: the Grand Ballroom at The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport seats 400 for a banquet. Near the universities, the StateView has more than 8,000 square feet of meeting space and the JB Duke Hotel more than 25,600. Under 50 people, a game show or a packing build fits one meeting room or your own office.
