Build-a-Computer is a fun team building event that gives your group the unique opportunity to provide local youth programs with much-needed technology and educational tools.
Computers have the ability to enhance relationships between teachers and students and are now essential for the completion of homework assignments and research.
Teams will be challenged to build or assemble a collection of items which support local after-school organizations all leading up to the big reveal...building computers and workstations!
Organization, delegation, communication, and some mechanical skills will be tested to complete this fun and engaging build activity.
All computers come complete with the current version of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office for Students, a Monitor, a Keyboard, a Mouse, a customized mousepad - plus a Mobile Workstation and Chair so the stations can be easily moved from room to room as needed.
Schools and youth organizations in desperate need of computers and workstations will be overwhelmed by the generosity of your donation.
At the conclusion of the program, whenever possible, your group will present these beautiful, finished computers and workstations to a local school or charity representative who will address your group and thank you for your donation.
To ensure a great experience, aspects of this event may be modified for your group size, group makeup, time available, and other variables.
Computers are the gateway to independence for unprivileged children who must become familiar with technology to become productive members of society in their adult lives.
Over the years, Best Corporate Events has developed an extensive network of charities across the country. We partner with them to deliver our clients’ generous donations to those most in need.
We also rely upon them to keep us up-to-date on what items are most in demand at any given time. From food donations to military care packages, from bikes and wagons to wheelchairs for the mobility-challenged, from guitars for school music programs to iPods for people with varying stages of Alzheimer’s. Our clients’ programs have affected the lives of tens of thousands of people in need.
Recently, it has come to our attention that what many schools, after-school programs, and organizations caring for children need the most are computers. Computers can be the key to success and independence for many unprivileged children.
It is this need that we have addressed with our fun Build-a-Computer team-building program that features a series of challenging team “construction” activities, culminating in the building of computers and workstations for children’s schools and after-school programs, including organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Arthur Fletcher put it best when he coined the well-known phrase, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." We agree and hope that this program has an immediate impact on children who have the desire to succeed and just need the tools to accomplish that goal.
