Best Corporate Events will work seamlessly with your venue to arrange all the logistics, from ordering the food and setting up the room.

The kitchen can be a fun environment that makes cooking a perfect team building activity. Teams will enjoy a competitive format while collaborating and strengthening the cohesiveness of their team.  Every member of the team, from all departments including executives, management and sales can work together. Each member of the team will contribute to creating what is on the menu.

Best Corporate Events offers five food-themed culinary programs. Each designed to allow everyone from a novice cook to master chef to participate comfortably.

  1. Chili Cook-off

Chili Cook-Off involves all members of the team completing a different task. From prepping and cooking the chili, decorating the chef’s apron, and creating a presentation or jingle that will showcase the uniqueness of their team. Participants will also earn points for their team using Apple iPads® which deliver text, audio and video clues, chili trivia and exciting gaming challenges.  All your memories of this delicious event will be captured with photos and video of your teams in action. After judging, scoring and tasting, one team will emerge as the reigning Chili Cook-Off Champion!

  1. Fiesta Fun™

Fiesta Fun™ is a lively event where corporate groups will experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Mexico! In this exciting contest, participants compete to make their own brand of salsa, guacamole, and golden margaritas!  Having fun to the beat of Mexican music, the program kicks off with a series of team building icebreakers. Next, teams work on their unique recipes, develop a name and logo and write a jingle to market their creations. Tables equipped with all the required utensils and an abundance of ingredients are supplied.

  1. Food Truck Face-Off

Teams are formed and participate in a competitive large group icebreaker to set the order in which they choose their cuisine and theme that their truck will feature. All-American, Mexican, Mediterranean, Asian, Vegetarian, and “Sweet Tooth” are all on the table and up for grabs.
Once cuisines are chosen it’s time to get to work, picking a company name, designing a logo, and building a large truck façade with cardboard, duct tape, and decorative materials.  Teams also create their menus, as well as a commercial they will perform to whet their colleagues’ appetites. To test each team’s culinary creativity, specific ingredients will be provided, and suggestions for the dishes to be served, but there will be no actual recipes.

  1. Foodie SmartHunt®

Teams will be provided with iPads and a food and beverage budget. They will search for local restaurants, cafes, street vendors, food trucks, and farmer’s markets to sample local cuisine and videotape live critiques on their iPads during this one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt.  As teams travel on their culinary tour, they will navigate to historic points of interest and earn points by completing in photo and video challenges and a variety of Foodie themed missions such as Chef Talk, Food Critic, Foodie Trivia and Beat the Bartender. Teams could even earn extra points at fun, challenging, physical game stations set up at one or more of the stops!

  1. Tapas and Sangria Making

In this Spanish-themed series of team bonding exercises, your group will be making Tapas and Sangria! Now enjoyed everywhere, Tapas originated as appetizers or small plates in Spanish cuisine. Flavorful Sangria is a beverage from Spain and Portugal, which normally consists of wine, chopped fruit, sweetener, and a small amount of brandy.  Your group will be formed into “wineries.” Each team will choose a name for their winery, develop their own brand of Sangria using ingredients from our marketplace and design a logo used to market their unique concoction. The ingredients in Sangria vary, particularly in the type of fruit used, the kind of spirits added, and the presence or lack of carbonation. Teams also create Tapas based on a delicious cold menu provided so no stove required! Ingredients and a dish description will be provided but not a specific recipe, and that’s where the team building comes in.

Throughout each of these cooking activities, the group’s creativity, communication, cooperation, and time management are all challenged.  The type of cuisines may vary, but these programs share a common mission – to build unity while breaking down barriers for better communication. Our events focus on interaction which leads to happier and more productive team members in the workplace. So let’s get cooking!

Leadership skills and team building go hand and hand. Leaders must have the ability to lead their team and keep strong relationships amongst the company. Leaders are the ones who motivate employees and find ways to build stronger bonds. Team building is a perfect example of a way to build effective teams and improve communication.

Leaders must be good at communication to be sure everyone on the team understands the company’s vision. A dedicated leader takes the time to inspire team members and mentor them through their job responsibilities. The leader is the expertise in the business and leads by example. Leaders must gain the trust of their teammates and encourage honesty in the workplace. Leaders with strong problem-solving skills use team building to complete projects and complete tasks at hand. Everyone at the company contributes a different skill or talent. The team is not nearly as strong as when everyone learns to work together. Team building lifts everyone up to work together when a challenging situation arises.

During team building activities, it becomes evident that there is a need to align performance goals with the team purpose. Employees then have a direct impact over the companies goals by giving them an individual target they control and that they feel ownership in hitting. This target should also be one that aligns with the organization’s goals but should be just one piece of the whole puzzle and success of the company.

Good company culture comes from implementing a strong team, with purpose and specific performance goals.  In addition, through team building activities and performance coaching by management, the leader can enhance accountability at the individual and team level. This will come by setting expectations, giving responsibility, and providing feedback.

Overall, leaders are the ones who are ultimately responsible for bringing their team together.  Team building in the workplace enables better communication, better relationships and ultimately increases productivity. Team building in leadership sets the stage for the team’s dynamic. When you have leadership and team building, everyone feels a sense of ownership and is more motivated and engaged to reach the common goal!

Corporate groups can build effective relationships while finding solutions to office conflicts, as well as set goals to drive the company to new levels of success. When you decide to host a team-building activity, it tells your team you care about their success.

During team building activities, your employees will grow and learn new skills they can bring back to the company. People will be more motivated when they can take pride in their performance. Once a stronger trust has is built amongst teammates, everyone will enjoy coming to work more each day. The effectiveness of team building differs from one organization to another. One commonality is that all members of the team must understand the objectives they face when going into the activity. Once the team’s goals are set, and roles are assigned, teams can work together to achieve great results. Conducting a needs assessment before a specific team building program or activity is decided upon is always essential to its success. The needs assessment identifies the group’s goals and desired outcomes so the program can be structured to address them.

When team members can trust each other and learn to communicate more effectively, they can easily share ideas and collaborate. Team building helps those who might not typically be engaged to interact with each other. It teaches people to work together, thus increasing productivity. Finding ways to utilize each person’s skills and then transferring it to a work project, results in more efficient work and satisfaction from the team overall. What is a Keynote Speaker?

Keynote Speaker is an often-misunderstood term associated with simply a motivational speaker, breakout speaker, industry expert, etc. Most professional speakers are not actual trained Keynote Speakers, who are specialists, therefore in much lower supply, and in higher demand.

Keynote Speakers are experienced, professional communicators who engage an audience, capturing the essence of a client’s meeting. They are able to highlight it to their audience while simultaneously delivering their own key concepts and proprietary content in an entertaining and impactful way. Most companies understand that this specialization is very much worth the time (around an hour) and the investment.

In order to capture the perfect essence, a Keynote Speaker spends the necessary time researching a client’s industry, their issues, and their audience to craft a customized presentation into a unique and distinctive moment specifically for the client’s event.

As a top Keynote Speaker, Tom Leu strategically uses compelling storytelling, humor, powerful visuals, audio and video clips, and audience participation elements to weave an impactful message into your event in a fun and memorable way. Tom can also pair his Keynote with Best Corporate Events programming, laying a foundation and setting a tone that best prepares participants for maximum engagement in the forthcoming team events that day.
