On those days when it feels like no amount of effort will get you to your goals, it’s wise to consider the power of teamwork. Just as one single drop of water makes next to no impact on rock but a strong and cohesive stream can carve through mountains, making use of the strengths of those around you can exponentially increase your impact.  At work this might mean holding a brainstorming meeting to find solutions to get past a roadblock.  At home it might mean each family member’s chores play to his or her strengths.  And everywhere, it means that building a true team, with everyone pitching in towards the greater good and the agreed-upon goals, is smart.  Of course, to that end, we here at Best Corporate Events suggest any of our dozens of time-tested programs, proven to build team morale, trust, and cohesiveness!

If your fear is that your next corporate event will be boring, check out this video of the Gumbo Cook-Off program, because there is never a dull moment! Teams are dancing, singing, tasting their creations, wearing masks, offering up beautifully presented trays, laughing like crazy, and having an absolutely incredible time.  Plus, through it all, they’re learning more about their colleagues, forging stronger connections that they’ll bring right back to the office. Last month, we here at Best Corporate Events facilitated one of our most popular charitable CSR programs, Build-a-Wheelchair®, for 400 participants in Las Vegas. This program – exclusive to our company as we own the registered trademark on the name – not only gives a new twist on the old “bike build” structure, but also zooms into the future with high-tech elements. As with many of our programs, we offer Apple iPads, loaded with our special App technology, as a part of the event. This so impressed Nevada television station KTNV that they did a news story on the program and the subsequent donation of 90 wheelchairs to a worthy local charity.  It’s always heartwarming to see the incredible good that comes from philanthropic programs like this one, and we couldn’t be more delighted to have the press share it!

One of the beautiful things about every Best Corporate Events program is its customizability: from length to goals to debrief topics, we make sure it will precisely fit the needs of our client.  For the We Care for Kids™ program, further customization is possible in that there are many different possible items that can be built and assembled depending on the group’s needs.  From putting together stuffed animals to be donated to fire stations and crisis centers to comfort children undergoing trauma to assembling reading benches, school cubbies, or small rocking chairs for underequipped hospitals or schools, there are myriad ways to make this charitable program fit just right.  Check out this video, where participants make hundreds of these various gifts for those in need!

When teams are tasked with developing a recipe, competing with their colleagues for the best taste and presentation, suddenly everyone is engaged and energized. Check out this video, where 650 participants decorate, design, cook, present, and cheer! When someone tosses out the word “team,” the listener often first thinks of the most common uses, like a sports team or an expedition.  But any company or group uses teamwork, and the programs we offer strengthen their bonds no matter what field they’re in.  As part of our continuing series highlighting teams working in interesting situations, let’s take a look at the extraordinary Pageant of the Masters, a theatrical performance which combines live “living statue” actors and carefully-crafted sets to recreate incredible works of art in person, each held for a few minutes.

According to a recent article, the number of people who collaborate to create this breathtaking spectacle is staggering.  It requires over 60,000 volunteer hours and over 6 months of planning each year to put together the costumes, make-up plots, sets, and designs.  That means hundreds of pounds of clay, plaster, paint, sponges, and muslin in the hands of many hundreds of experts.  Not just one but two full casts rotate through the show.  There are over 120 volunteers just in the make-up department.  And all of this has been running smoothly for 80 years!

We know from experience that no matter the field you’re in, teamwork is vital, and our corporate events truly do help, so you can head back to work invigorated, inspired, and ready to be the masters of your craft!

Our Operation Military Care program combines the best of corporate social responsibility with the finest team building activities, culminating in a heartwarming thank you speech from a military officer who details what these care packages will mean to the enlisted men and women who will soon receive them. If the sight of the hundreds of boxes in this video, decorated to look like an American flag, somehow fails to warm your heart, consider too that each contains a hand-written note from a participant, thanking the recipient for his or her service, and that every team member goes home knowing that at some point soon, there will be just a bit more joy and comfort in the world thanks to their work and generosity. It’s a moving experience of teamwork and charitableness that motivates your group for a long time thereafter!
